Starting today, children born in 2019 can be registered for Kindergarten in Sooke School District 62 (SD62), to start classes in September 2024 (for the 2024/25 academic year). That’s for children who will turn age 5 years by December 31, 2024.

First comes the Nature Kindergarten and French Immersion streams. That registration opened this morning online and will be open to 11:59 p.m. on Friday January 19. It is highly likely both programs will go to a lottery.

There is typically a lottery for French Immersion and Nature Kindergarten. If a Regular Kindergarten program at an elementary school receives more registrations than available seats, a lottery will be held.

Schools will notify parents of lottery results during January 23 to 25, 2024.
