All stores in the London Drugs retail store chain in western Canada are now open.
The chain experienced a cybersecurity attack on April 28 and immediately closed all 79 stores in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The stores were slowly reopened over the last week.
No consumer databases have been compromised, the chain said today May 8.
Store leadership called it one of the most challenging times in the retail chain’s history.
Local store:
Locally, the Colwood store reopened on May 7. The downtown store on Yates Street was the first to reopen in the Greater Victoria area, several days ago.
Effective crisis management:
As crisis incidents go, the public relations management of this one was handled proficiently with regular updates and staying on top of releasing the key information that customers wanted or needed (especially as related to prescription refills at the pharmacies within each store).
