The 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Westshore Parks and Recreation (WSPR) Society will be held on Thursday June 12, 2025.
The 6 pm meeting will be held in the Fieldhouse behind the main recreation centre building at 1767 Island Highway (Highway 14) in Colwood.

The current WSPR Board of Directors is comprised of:
- Kimberley Guiry, City of Langford – Chair
- Leslie Anderson, District of Highlands – Vice Chair
- Shelly Donaldson, District of Metchosin – Finance Chair
- Alison MacKenzie, Town of View Royal – GVLRA Representative
- Dean Jantzen, City of Colwood
The AGM agenda includes a Strategic Plan Update (2021-2026), a Finance Committee report, a Personnel report, and Asset Management Report. The board will look at the 2024 annual report.
Infrastructure and facilities:
The facilities owned by West Shore Parks and Recreation are a significant investment by taxpayers in the west shore.
The facilities include a swimming pool, ice arena, The Q Centre (mid-size arena with ice rink / lacrosse floor), pickleball courts, skate park, golf course, fitness programs, activity rooms, licensed child care, summer camps and more. | See WSPR activity and facility profile

A grand opening for the new pickleball courts will be held on Friday June 13 at 10 am.
Board of directors:
The board is now comprised of one municipal council representative from each of the five municipalities that (through the WSPR Society) own the recreation facility.
Previous to the current structure, the Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs / senior staff) of the five municipalities served to steer the society board while it changed its structure. Prior to the interim format of CAOs, there were at least two councillors from each of the five municipalities as well as staff and other community representatives on a very large board that some thought to be too cumbersome.
The WSPR board of directors meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month, and is responsible for setting policy and guidelines for the operation of West Shore Parks & Recreation and its facilities through the administrator and staff.
