RCMP seeking witnesses of youth fight near Belmont Secondary

One youth arrested for assault causing bodily harm

On Friday December 9, 2022, the West Shore RCMP were called to Belmont Secondary School in Langford, at approximately 10:55 a.m.

Police were called to investigate a report of a fight between two students that took place just off the 3041 Langford Lake Road school property near the far end of the main parking lot and sports field near Glen Lake Road.

Police learned that two 17-year-old male students had begun physically fighting and punching one another.

Near the end of the fight, one youth was repeatedly kicked in the head by the other youth, resulting in a broken nose and broken cheek bone for one of the youth.

The suspect youth perpetrator, who also sustained minor injuries, was arrested for assault causing bodily harm. The suspect youth was placed on conditions to not have any contact with the youth victim and is set to appear in court in February 2023.

This crime is still under investigation.

“We are aware that there were several youths who witnessed this fight take place and only some have come forward to speak to police. We are requesting the remaining youth witnesses to please come forward and speak to us,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer in a news release today.
