February/March 2023:
- On his 100th day in office, BC Premier David Eby announced another BC Affordability Credit (about 85% of British Columbians will receive a payment in April 2023).
- Former BC Premier John Horgan gave his last speech in the Legislative Assembly on February 9. A final speech as MLA for Langford-Juan de Fuca is expected on March 17, 2023. | Melanie Mark has also resigned as MLA (Vancouver-Mount Pleasant). This will generate two by-elections in the coming months.
- SD62 School Board Chair Ravi Parmar is expected to run as the NDP candidate in the upcoming Langford-Juan de Fuca by-election; that will kickstart a school trustee by-election in the SD62 Belmont Zone (Langford, Colwood, Highlands and Metchosin) at some point in 2023 or early 2024.
