During COVID-19, people still want their vitamins and a supply of the natural cleaning products that are sold at OakTree Naturals in Langford.
The store has remained opened, adjusting to the public health officer’s requirements as things have rapidly changed regarding social distancing and regular cleaning.
“People are phoning in their orders and coming to quickly pick them up in packages that we have ready at the door,” says OakTree Naturals owner Aman Jiwani. They also provide free home delivery now that many people are now self-isolating at home. All of this helps with the required social distancing.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, people are required to do social distancing (stay one to two metres apart), wash their hands frequently, stay home if they’re sick, and to simply stay out of the community as much as possible by self-isolating at home. It’s okay to walk outside with members of your same household, but otherwise the same social distancing rules apply outdoors.
In the store, Aman says they are regularly cleaning the counters and mopping the floors. People are to pay with debit or credit cards (preferably by tap, to avoid physical contact with surfaces).
As the natural products store is a non-essential service, it’s likely OakTree Naturals will eventually have to close its doors as the pandemic moves to a deeper phase on Vancouver Island. But for now the store which opened only last year in Langford is happy to help people stock up on their vitamins, minerals and other health supplements as well as the natural cleaning products that are sold there.
OakTree Naturals is located in central Langford at 705 Goldstream Avenue (near the corner of Veterans Memorial Parkway). Phone: 250-590-0171.
