This afternoon for about an hour, the northbound lane of Highway 1 — north of West Shore Parkway and just past Ice Cream Mountain was closed as a dump truck that went off the road was dealt with.
The busy northbound lane of Highway 1 through Langford is a through-route for people leaving the Greater Victoria area and heading up-island.
West Shore RCMP issued an advisory about the situation at 1:50 p.m and the area was reopened by about 3:20 p.m.
Locally, City of Langford Director of Engineering Michelle Mahovlich advised media about the northbound lane closure around 2:15 pm. At 3:15 pm she advised that the highway was open again.
Highway 1 (aka the Trans Canada) is the responsibility of the provincial Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
