UPDATE JUNE 17: “We’re thrilled to welcome the newest addition to our family, Éowyn Sharon Collins McNish. She arrived in the world on Tuesday (June 13) after a quick and intense labour at home. We’re all happy and healthy, and Alora is so excited to be a big sister. “
UPDATE JULY 9: Baby #2 is already in the political swing of things, being part of the Victoria Pride Parade on July 9, 2023.
[AS POSTED MAY 28, 2023:] Victoria MP Laurel Collins is pregnant and expecting her second baby in just two weeks!
Many people already know Alora, age 2, whom Collins and her husband James McNish proudly and adoringly take with them everywhere.
“Alora is excited about having a new sibling,” Collins told Island Social Trends today.
Collins was at Ravi Parmar’s campaign office opening today in Langford. Parmar is running as the BC NDP candidate for Langford-Juan de Fuca.
Also attending Parmar’s office opening celebration today was Alistair MacGregor, MP (Cowichan-Malahat-Langford) and Mitzi Dean, MLA (Esquimalt-Metchosin).
Alora was enjoying snacks today. Even as an infant she has been toted around to political events with her parents, including spending time in the House of Commons on occasion when she was a younger infant.
In July 2022 Alora paid a visit to the Beacon Hill Children’s Farm in Victoria along with her parents and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh.
