Langford Council Chambers will now be open for limited in-person attendance at Council and Committee meetings.
Information on how to sign up for that (as well as dial-in or Zoom info) for Council & Committee meetings is available on the City of Langford website www.langford.ca under the City Hall section.
This news was announced by the City today, March 2, on the heels of two years of COVID pandemic during which in-person meetings and events at most municipal halls have been virtual-only (dial-in or Zoom).
Easing of COVID restrictions:
Now that most people are double-vaxxed (and have a BC Vaccine Card as proof of that) or have received a booster as well, people are generally more comfortable with interactions in public.
Some people may still want to wear masks for their own level of comfort, and most people will expect reasonable physical distancing for a while yet.
BC Provincial Health Officer Dr Bonnie Henry has indicated that she will review the remaining public health orders (particularly about wearing masks in indoor spaces) mid-March and again mid-April.
Yesterday, on the first day of March, she expressed an interest in wanting things to be easier for the health-care system, health-care workers, and everyone involved in grad season this spring and summer.
Next council meeting:
The next City of Langford Regular Council meeting is on Monday March 7 at 5:30 pm.
