The Canadian Premier League and U SPORTS have officially announced the selection order for the 2019 CPL-U SPORTS Draft. The draft will be held in Montreal as part of this year’s U SPORTS Men’s Soccer Championship from November 7 to 10, it was announced today November 6.

The first round of the draft will see HFX Wanders FC, who finished in last place in the combined CPL standings this season, select first overall. CPL Champions Forge FC will close out the first round by selecting seventh.

Here is the order for the first round:

1) Halifax Wanderers FC
2) Valour FC
3) Pacific FC
4) FC Edmonton
5) York9 FC
6) Cavalry FC
7) Forge FC

The draft order will reverse itself for the second round, with Forge selecting first and HFX going last. In total, 14 players will be selected during the two-round draft.

Soccer fans can watch the CPL-U SPORTS Draft unfold on November 11 at 4 pm Pacific Time on CanPL.ca, the CPL’s YouTube Channel, and on IGTV @cplsoccer.

Last year a local segment of the first draft process was held in Victoria hosted by Pacific FC at the UVic Stadium.

Pacific FC is opening their new indoor training center at 2888 Kettle Lake Drive on December 1, 2019 with an event at 12 noon.

From December 1 to 15, sports clubs are invited to book field time at the ITC free of charge by contacting Wes Barrett at wbarrett@pacificfc.ca.  After that, the inaugural Pacific 6 Holiday Tournament will follow over the Christmas break.

Pacific FC launched in summer 2018, with their first season played April through October 2019 at Westhills Stadium during which time they launched the Pacific FC brand and drew substantial crowds to each game.
