Youth among the Green Party of Canada are weighing in.

The Young Greens are holding an online debate with the GPC leadership contestants, on Sunday August 23 at 1 pm (Pacific). Anyone can register to listen-in or participate.

The bilingual event will have simultaneous translation availability.

There are nine candidates in the Green Party of Canada leadership race. The new leader will be announced on October 4, 2020. The nine contenders are: Annamie Paul, David Merner, Amita Kuttner, Glen Murray, Dimitri Lascaris, Meryam Haddad, Judy N Green, Andrew West, and Courtney Howard.

Momentum for the leadership contest is now driven by these dates:

  • August 27, 2020 – Last day to request mail-in ballot
  • September 3, 2020 – Deadline to be a voting member
  • September 26, 2020 – Online voting opens
  • October 3, 2020 – Online voting closes

Long-time Green Party Leader Elizabeth May resigned in November 2019; interim leader is Jo-Ann Roberts.
