~ West Shore Voice News
About 6,000 to 8,000 people will turn up to browse around at the Victoria Boat Show through this weekend Friday February 22 through Sunday February 24 at Eagle Ridge Arena at City Centre Park in Langford. That’s right next to Westhills Stadium on Langford Parkway.
It’s a new location for the show, which in previous years has set up for the 3-day experience at Pearkes Arena in the Tillicum area. To avoid a back-to-back show roster with the Vancouver Boat Show, this year the Victoria Boat Show is being held a bit later in February. The new west shore location for the show is being given a try this year, and seems to be popular.
Billed as Vancouver Island’s Premier Outdoor Sportsman and Recreation Expo, there are about 50 booths and displays in the arena for Victoria Boat Show 2019. That includes information from outdoor experts, seminars, tackle, gear, boats and more. Even dirt bikes, ATVs and snowmobiles.
One nifty product is the ‘Sealegs’ amphibious boat that can traverse terrain that a boat trailer can’t handle, taking the boat right from the water onto land.
Exhibitors include Island Outfitters, Alpine Marine, and Monti’s Marine & Motor Sports.
This year’s show location in Langford is that much closer to the west coast area of Sooke and the Juan de Fuca coast up to Port Renfrew, locations for recreational sport fishing and outdoor marine sport.
One more day of the show coming up February 24, from 10 am to 4 pm. Parking entrance is off Langford Parkway.
Admission $9 adults, $7 seniors, family pass $15 (2 adults and children under 16), Children under 16 free. Cash only at the door. www.victoriaboatshow.com
