On Sunday July 7 at 6:45 pm two inmates escaped from William Head Institution in Metchosin, it was reported by Westshore RCMP in a news release today, Monday morning.
Correctional Service of Canada report inmates James Lee Busch, 42, and Zachary Armitage, 30, are currently wanted for being Unlawfully at Large, says Cpl. Chris Dovell in the release.
West Shore RCMP were notified and an extensive search using a police dog named Erik and general duty police officers was conducted. Police continue to deploy resources to search for the escaped prisoners including air surveillance with a RCMP Air Services helicopter.
James Lee Busch is a First Nations male, 5’9″, 160 pounds, medium-tan coloured skin, shaved head, and has a skull tattoo on his left forearm.
Zachary Armitage is a First Nations male, 5’10”, 170 pounds, with light colour skin, black short trimmed hair, and a tattoo with a crown and “No Love” on his right arm.
West Shore RCMP continue to search for Busch and Armitage who are considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact 911 immediately.
