Regular commuters along Langford Parkway will want to note the intermittent 5-minute road closures there at the intersection of Leigh Road.
That’s right by the Starlight Stadium in the commercial area of Westhills commercial area. Signage will be in place.
Between 9 am and 3 pm there will be a telecommunications tower install, resulting in the traffic stoppages.
Five minute stoppages might not sound like a long time. But at a busy thoroughfare intersection, the backup could become lengthy quickly. Not so much on a Monday in summer (schools closed, people on vacation), but you never know.
The Leigh Road access from that intersection is a handy route for getting to Highway 1 and to the Bear Mountain Parkway. The through-intersection on Langford Parkway leads out of Westhills past West Shore Town Centre, all things within Langford and beyond. To the west of that intersection on Langford Parkway is the roundabout at West Shore Parkway.
Traffic control personnel will be on site, says City of Langford Engineering.
