Sooke Skate Park on Throup Road is operated by SEAPARC Leisure Complex.

SEAPARC is owned and operated by the Capital Regional District (CRD). The Sooke and Electoral Area Parks and Recreation Commission (SEAPARC) is keen about the project and funds have been allocated for developing the new concept design.

SEAPARC funding is received from taxpayers in both the District of Sooke and the Juan de Fuca Electoral area (residents in East Sooke and west of Sooke up to Port Renrew).

Priority project:

Replacing the old skate park is shown as a priority in the 2015-2023 Strategic Plan.

The Sooke Skate Park was built in 1997 by the Rotary Club of Sooke and is currently operated by SEAPARC Recreation. It has reached end-of-life.

Enhancing user experience:

Once the concept design is complete that will provide a plan for future development and upgrades to the Sooke Skate Park. Unique features will enhance user experience.

Skate parks are considered a positive community amenity in particular for youth.
