The Sooke Lions Club is organizing their first Business Expo to help support community exposure for businesses of the Sooke region.

Calling it Sookarama 2019, proceeds from booth sales will support local Lions initiatives including Sooke Canada Day, the summer car ‘show and shine’, Santa Claus Parade, and the Sooke Food Bank. Admission to the venue is free.

The event will be held from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday April 27 at the SEAPARC Leisure Complex, 2168 Phillips Road, in Sooke.

The Sooke Lions also publish a substantial business directory that promotes Sooke businesses.

For about 10 years, the Sooke Rotary Club held a similar event that was headlined by a live and silent auction event but the trade show aspect became too much for the core volunteers; the evening dinner portion of that program has been maintained this year, being held by Sooke Rotary on May 4 at the Prestige Hotel as a fundraiser for their many causes.
