Businesses and organizations in Sooke have again sponsored a decorated tree for the Festival of Trees, in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Trees were provided and sponsors did their own decorating. Twelve sponsors paid $250 each to participate.

Organized for many years by SEAPARC Leisure Complex staff, this year the Sooke Harbourside Lions have taken over co-ordination of this event, while SEAPARC still hosts the trees.

“It is another way that we can provide a service to the community and we are very excited to take on the organization of this very important event to raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital,” says Brenda Brown, Festival of Trees Coordinator, Sooke Harbourside Lions.

“Our club is 100% behind this project as many of our members and their families have counted on BC Children’s in their own lives,” says Brown.
