The self-isolation and social distancing demands as part of fighting the community spread of COVID-19 has impacted a local tanning and supplements business in Langford.

The combination retail outlets of LA Tanning and Universal Supplements on Jacklin Road in Langford has seen an 80% drop in demand for tanning in the last week or two.

“If business was as dead as it was yesterday, we might have to close,” says LA Tanning and Universal Supplements owner John Bowker.

Recently revised hours are currently 10 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday (previously open weekday evenings to 8 pm), and Saturday/Sunday from noon to 5 pm (previously opening at 10 am on Saturdays).

“This is painful for businesses. They shouldn’t leave that for individual businesses to decide but be telling all businesses to close,” says Bowker.

The spacious store at 114-2806 Jacklin Road offers plenty of parking in the mall at the corner of Jacklin Road and Goldstream Avenue.
