The District of Sooke’s sandbag station is up and running for the autumn 2023 season.

The Sooke sandbag station is located in the Ed Macgregor Park parking lot at 6752 West Coast Road (Highway 14).

It opened on October 18 and will remain open through the rainy season.

The station is self-serve, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sand and bags are provided by the municipality and Emergency Management BC.

Residents are asked to bring their own shovels to fill the bags.

Take only enough to meet your needs so that supplies are available for others, says District communications rep Christina Moog.
