Working within the COVID-19 orders and guidelines of the Provincial Health Officer, the City of Langford engineering and traffic crews are out and about maintaining the roads.
Projects such as paving, streetlight work, and installing pavement markers has been going on in recent days and for various days ahead, to maintain city roads during the pandemic.
As many people are self-isolating and staying close to home, in a way it seems a bit surprising to see that robust mechanical activity, but in a good way!
Various traffic alerts are posted on the Langford city website and on the West Shore Voice News traffic page.
Generally each year, the spring, summer and fall months are robust around town in Langford for various maintenance and expansion of roads, trails, sidewalks, culvert cleaning and other engineering projects. The city’s crack sealing is part of an annual program to extend the life of existing paved roads.
After the May 4 City of Langford council meeting, there will be a better idea of how things will move forward in terms of the roads and engineering budget for 2020, says Michelle Mahovlich, Director of Engineering, City of Langford.
