With a good chunk of preliminary results now in (9:42 pm), NDP incument Randall Garrison has been re-elected in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has won in Burnaby South. The NDP have achieved 25 seats (down from 39 at the dissolution of the 42nd parliament). Singh wants to “play a positive and productive role in the new parliament”, he said in his victory speech tonight.

Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke was hotly contested. David Merner (Green) has come in second, third place taken by Randall Pewarchuk (Conservative), and fourth place by Jamie Hammond (Liberal).NL
