This year’s annual Metchosin Community Day is coming up Sunday Sept 8 on the District of Metchosin municipal grounds at 4450 Happy Valley Rd.
The free family-fun event runs from 11 am to 5:30 pm. There are displays, entertainment, farmer’s market, vendor booths and speeches.
Pet show, children’s games, sheep shearing, hayrides, and viewing of cakes, pies, and produce are among the activities.
There will be 4 H judging, displays and demonstrations and Metchosin awards.
Parking for those with disabilities will be available next to the Fire Hall. Limited parking is available at old school grounds. A shuttle will run from New St Mary’s. Walk or cycle if you can, say organizers.
It’s an open-air event; wear hat and sunscreen as desired.
The salmon and lamb barbecue dinner ($25 per person) is a certain hit.
