Shakira and Jennifer Lopez will each have six-minute sets which are apparently “different but complimentary”.
- For Sharika this performance is also a ‘birthday present’… the mother of two turns 43-years-old today. The Columbian singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer, businesswoman, and philanthropist started singing at age 13. Shakira has sold over 75 million records worldwide. She now lives in Spain.
- JLo is 50-years-old and her acquired wealth from her career in acting, dancing, singing, TV show judging (American Idol), fashion design, and as a show producer and businesswoman is apparently in the range of $400 million. As of 2018, Lopez has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, including 40 million albums. Lopez is regarded as the most influential Hispanic performer in the United States, credited with breaking racial barriers in the entertainment industry.
Also popular with viewers on Superbowl Sunday are the expensive and attentively-crafted TV commercials which are designed not only to sell products but to wow the audience from a creative point of view. Spots from major brands are largely staying away from divisive issues on TV’s biggest ad day.
Apparently companies like Verizon and Sabra are emphasizing — and celebrating — what Americans have in common beneath their differences. Other big advertisers are New York Life Insurance, Michelob and Snickers. This being a presidential election year, viewers will also see President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign ad and high-profile Democratic campaign hopeful Michael R. Bloomberg’s ad as well. The National Football League itself with have an ad with social commentary.
The football game is on in Miami today, with TV coverage starting at 3 pm (Pacific), kickoff at 3:30 pm. Livestream on CBC.
Super Bowl LIV, the 54th Super Bowl and the 50th modern-era National Football League championship game, will decide the champion for the NFL’s 2019 and 100th season. The National Football Conference champion San Francisco 49ers will play against the American Football Conference champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Super Bowl LIV being broadcast on Fox is expected to attract an audience of roughly 100 million.
