On Tuesday March 9, a portion of Reunion Avenue in Langford will be closed through most of the Belmont Residences/Market development (Merchant Way to Kelly Road) for a concrete pour.
The closure on Tuesday is during the day, from 7 am to 4 pm, says City of Langford engineering. Drivers use the route to access stores and residences in the Belmont development, as well as to cut through from Jacklin Road to Kelly Road.
Reunion Avenue (formerly Division Avenue) runs its full length from Jacklin Road to Kelly Road, through the relatively new commercial and residential development built on the former Sooke School District 62 (SD62) land where Belmont Secondary School once stood (the school relocated into Westhills, opening in September 2015, colloquially calling itself Belmont 2.0).
The new development (first official ground-breaking in March 2018 along with Ledcor Developments) has added a robust new level of commercial activity and more residential opportunities into the growing Langford municipality.
