At nightfall on Christmas Eve, the firefighters of Langford Fire Rescue each year make their rounds in a fire truck. The whooping sound tips off residents that the truck is on its way along decorated streets.
Sometimes cars pull over to let the firetruck pass as the greeting of “Merry Christmas” is blared out.
In previous years there might be stops to greet people, but this year with COVID it’s a drive-by only.
