City of Langford councillors are keen to meet folks outdoors on a fun day!
They want to let people know about their public engagement process about developing the first master plans in Langford’s 30-year period of growth and hear input from residents.
“These plans will guide the growth and development of our city for the next 50,000 residents,” says Langford Councillor Keith Yacucha. The population of Langford has grown rapidly since the housing boom that started in 2010 and is currently just over 50,000 (2021 census showed 46,584 which was a 31.8% increase from 2016).
Working together:
“Let’s work together to define our growth, determine where and how we expand, and ensure that everyone benefits,” says the first-term councillor who was elected in 2022 along with Mayor Scott Goodmanson and Councillors Colby Harder, Kimberley Guiry, Mark Morley and Mary Wagner all new to politics, and Lillian Szpak who was re-elected in 2022 (has served on council since 2002).
Event on July 18:
The event Langford Community Fun Day will be held on Thursday, July 18 on the school field at Ruth King Elementary School at 2764 Jacklin Road in central Langford.
Drop-by visits are welcome at the event between 12 noon and 7 pm. Council and staff will be on hand.
“Join me and fellow members of the Langford City Council to share your ideas on the future of our community. We’ll have a variety of activities for all ages, including hot dogs, face painting, games, an inflatable obstacle course, music, arts & crafts, and sports activities. Additionally, we’ll be making some significant announcements and providing numerous engagement opportunities,” says Yacucha.
There is parking in the school parking lot and on nearby streets. On public transit routes.
