Health Minister Adrian Dix gave a shout out to health-care workers on Twitter this Sunday afternoon, as the entire health-care system heads into yet another busy week of the pandemic:

“I want to highlight the remarkable work of all of our nurses, health care workers, doctors and health science professionals in hospitals across BC. I know they are tired and the pressure is constant, but they have our gratitude and our support.”


Yesterday a sped-up age-based vaccination appointment schedule was announced: During the week of April 19 to 23, 2021, anyone age 18+ can register for their COVID vaccination: age 40+ starting Mon April 19 | Age 35+ starting Tues April 20 | Age 30+ starting Wed April 21 | Age 25+ starting Thurs April 22 | Age 18+ starting Fri April 23.

  • The fastest way to register is online at: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated.html
  • To register, people need their personal health number (found on their CareCard or on the back of their driver’s licence or BC Services Card), their postal code, first and last name, date of birth and an email address that gets checked regularly or a phone number that can receive text messages.

People age 40+ can now get the AstraZeneca vaccine at community pharmacies. | List of pharmacies in BC that are offering the AstraZeneca COVISHIELD vaccine.
