Some routes are changing in the Victoria Regional Transit System effective September 7 so that BC Transit customers are still provided with critical transportation solutions, it was stated in a BC Transit news release today.

The service changes will include schedule adjustments on routes throughout the region in an effort to better align with recent ridership demand.

Fall season service levels modified in response to COVID:

“Service level increases will be implemented on many of the routes over the current summer schedule being offered in the transit system,” it was stated today. This fall seasonal service change has been modified from previous years to reflect the ongoing COVID-19 response.

This includes measures taken by post-secondary institutions, such as the majority of classes moving to an online format. See full schedule details on the BC Transit website.

Later evening service on Fridays and Saturdays will be reinstated on the following routes:

  • 4 UVic/Downtown
  • 6 Downtown/Royal Oak Exchange
  • 14 UVic/Vic General
  • 15 Esquimalt/UVic
  • 27 Gordon Head/Downtown
  • 28 Majestic/Downtown
  • 50 Langford/Downtown

Late night service will end at approximately 1:30 a.m. departing downtown Victoria.

Continued service:
