Eligibility for the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal as given to post-secondary students has been expanded to also recognize outstanding contributions in support of inclusion, democracy or reconciliation, on or off campus.
Students must be in diploma and degree programs. Previously, the award was exclusive to students in vocational and career programs of less than two years and focused on academic excellence and community service.
There is no application process. Recipients are chosen by the institution they attend. Student awards offices have more information on the award nomination process. Awards are presented annually at their school’s convocation. Recipients receive a commemorative medal.
