Early on Sunday August 2 at about 5:30 am the West Shore RCMP received a report of windows being smashed at David Cameron School located at 675 Meaford Ave in Colwood.
West Shore RCMP frontline officers attended and a witness was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect who is alleged to have smashed the windows, says West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer Cst Nancy Saggar.
A 15-year-old youth suspect was located on scene and arrested for mischief, said Saggar in a news release today.
Second visit to the school:
Saggar says that police departed the scene but were called back approximately an hour later when another report of window smashing at the school was received.
A witness described a second suspect smashing windows at the school. Police attended the school again and located the second suspect, another 15-year-old youth, who was also arrested for mischief.
David Cameron Elementary:
David Cameron Elementary has about 375 students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 during the normal school year.
The school advised RCMP that the damage would cost about $300 to repair.
Back to school:
The return to school in BC is set for September 8, as announced by the Ministry of Education ahead of the BC Day long weekend.
