A new Christmas in Colwood event will be held at The Commons plaza in the Royal Bay neighbourhood this year.
The arrival of decorated lit-up trucks in Royal Bay will be the highlight at evening’s end.
Starts 5:30 pm:
The Christmas in Colwood event starts at 5:30 pm with holiday activities and runs through 8:30 pm. The trucks will roll through around 8 pm.
There will be treats, music, and fun. Donations will be accepted to help ensure every family is able to enjoy the holidays.
While in the neighbourhood folks will see the magical light tunnels on the bridges through Meadow Park!
Grab a coffee and take a wander along the trails that follow the stream to the playground and back.
City input:
“We’re grateful to participating local business, parade organizers, and event sponsors GableCraft Homes and Quality Foods for bringing some wonderful holiday magic to our community,” the City of Colwood stated on their website.
Weather tonight:
Bundle up for the outdoor event, for a bright and beautiful Christmas in Colwood! And perhaps bring an umbrella.
Today’s high is 10°C with a low tonight of 5°C. The forecast shows probability of rain being 15% to 22% in the 7 to 8 pm evening period.
An Environment Canada weather alert was issued for the Greater Victoria area for elevated water levels on December 2 and 3, but that happens at mid-to-late morning today and tomorrow; minor coastal flooding is possible along exposed shoreline. The Commons in Royal Bay is *not* at the ocean (though you can see the ocean from there)!
