Camosun College is ‘rolling out the welcome mat’ for its first open house since the pandemic in 2020.
Prospective students are invited to attending on Saturday November 2 at the Interurban Campus from 11 am to 3 pm.
“Nothing beats experiencing Camosun in person,” says the Camosun communications team.
Catching up since the pandemic:
During the pandemic, recruitment activities in Fall 2020 and 2021 were primarily virtual, including virtual info nights in February of 2021 and 2022.
In Fall 2022 and 2023, Camosun returned to in-person high school visits and other recruitment events. There was no open house in 2023.
November 2024 large gathering:
The November 2, 2024 Camosun College open house will provide an opportunity to connect with the campus community and discover the advantages of studying at Camosun, says Mary Hendrixson, Manager, Domestic Strategic Enrolment. A robust turnout is hoped for and expeted.
“We encourage prospective students to come out and experience the energy and excitement of our campus,” says Hendrixson.
People will be able to connect with faculty and staff, ask questions about programs and student life, and hear firsthand experiences from students and alumni. Learn more about what makes Camosun a popular place to study here on south Vancouver Island.

Attendees can participate in campus tours, check out an alumni panel for some inspiring success stories, and join information sessions on admissions and financial aid to unlock the secrets for future success.
- 11:15 am, 12:15 pm, 2:15 pm – Campus tours
- 1 pm – Alumni panel discussion
- 12 noon and 2 p.m. – Admissions and financial aid information sessions
Who will be there:
Representatives from various schools and services will be available to answer questions and showcase programs, including Arts and Science, Business, Health and Human Services, Trades and Technology, the School of Access, Centre for Sport and Exercise Education, Centre for Indigenous Education and Community Connection, student services, clubs, and the Camosun Chargers.
Any programs that are based at the Landsdowne campaus will have a presence at the Interurban campus open house. That includes the School of Arts & Science which will be showcasing in the Centre for Trades Education & Innovation Building.
Food and activities:
The event will also feature food and activities, including grab-and-go refreshments at the Centre for Business and Access (CBA) building and food trucks parked on-site. Parking is free for the Open House at the Interurban campus.
Enrolment profile
During the years 2020 through 2023 there was a slight year-over-year decline in domestic enrolment, says Thea Divinagracia, Marketing & Communications Strategist, Camosun College.
For this Fall 2024 there was a “dedicated domestic student recruitment team and increased marketing efforts” that have resulted in increased enrolment this season.
Popular programs:
Some of the most popular programs with the highest domestic applications are the dual-credit offerings for South Island Partnership high school students, academic upgrading options, the Nursing program, and University Transfer.
Student support services are available to students at both campuses (Interurban and Lansdowne).
Established in 1971, Camosun is one of the largest colleges in British Columbia with two campuses (Interurban and Lansdowne) on the territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. For over 50 years, Camosun has been delivering innovative, relevant and applied education, supporting communities, businesses and employers.
