93 electoral areas:

There are 93 electoral areas (ridings) across BC, up from 87 in the last election due to population growth; 15 of all ridings are on Vancouver Island. One MLA is elected from each riding, who then makes decisions in the BC Legislative Assembly on behalf of your community.

In the west shore of Greater Victoria there are now three ridings, up from the previous two due to population growth with an urban-rural mix:

  • Esquimalt-Colwood (includes Esquimalt, Colwood, View Royal and Vic West)
  • Juan de Fuca-Malahat (includes Sooke, east Sooke, Otter Point, Cobble Hill, Malahat, Metchosin, and several other areas)
  • Langford-Highlands (includes just Langford and Highlands)

On the Saanich Peninsula there is one riding: Saanich North and The Islands.
