The World Junior’s Hockey Finals will be played in Vancouver tomorrow night, Saturday January 5.
Broadcast and streamed on TSN, hockey fans will see Russia and Switzerland play it out for Bronze at 1 pm PT, then top contenders USA and Finland fighting it out for Gold at 4:30 pm.
Tonight’s January 4 semi-finals provided some intense action, with Finland winning over Switzerland 6-1, and USA beating Russia 2-1.
Ten teams were in two pools for the opening round that started on Boxing Day December 26. Pool A was based in Vancouver at Rogers Arena (Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Russia, Switzerland) where Canada almost made it into the finals. Pool B was based in Victoria at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre (Finland, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Sweden, United States) where Canadian fans essentially ‘adopted’ Kazakhstan as their own and cheered them on.
