On December 3 an online workshop about ‘Mental Health Over the Holidays’ will be presented by WorkBC Centre Westshore & Sooke.
WorkBC Centre Westshore & Sooke will be joined by presenters from Bridges for Women Society and also mxn Men’s Therapy Network.
“This engaging and holistic workshop addresses the challenges of the holiday season and empowers participants with valuable tools and strategies to enhance their mental health,” says WorkBC.
Attendees will also hear about free employment services that are available for local job seekers.
All of this is intended to foster growth and resilience in the community through proactive wellness.
Pressures in the holiday season:
Pressures and stressors in the year-end Christmas holiday season can include family issues, not having people to spend Christmas with, being able to afford gifts or going to parties, and the additional cost of groceries and home heating at this time of year.
In terms of the workplace, stressors might include having to work overtime (or not getting enough work hours), and the social aspects of workplace dynamics.
Helping out others in the holiday season can be a positive way to boost one’s own mental framework.
