The 2p23 Sooke Santa Parade is coming up on Sunday December 10.
The 2023 community-wide Sooke Santa Parade will run along Highway 14 (Sooke Road) from 5 to 6 pm (from Sooke Elementary to Townsend Road). That event is organized by the Sooke Lions.
As a traffic advisory, there will be a detour in effect on Highway 14 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, as the parade travels from Sooke Elementary School to Otter Point Road. Detour: Highway 14 / Charters Road / Throup Road / Church Road / Wadams Way / Otter Point Road.

The weather forecast for Sunday evening presently shows a 30% chance of showers and a temperature of about 1°C at night under cloudy skies.
Charitable donations:
Holiday season action by the Sooke Firefighter’s Association and IAFF Local 4841 includes their Charitable Giving Campaign.
The 2023 Campaign has launched with a goal to support more than 400 local families in the Sooke area this holiday season. It’s the campaign’s 30th year!
The campaign is delivered in partnership with the Sooke Christmas Bureau, the District of Sooke, and the two main grocery stores in town: Western Foods, and Village Foods.
Campaign team members will be at local businesses over the coming weeks, with the campaign culminating in the annual Santa Run on Saturday December 9.
Donations can be made online, aiming for a $15,000 goal on a GoFundMe page.
