About 250 cars, trucks and motorcycles were on display at the Sooke River Campground (Sooke Flats) today Sunday July 14, as part of the annual Sooke Car Show presented by Sooke Fall Fair.
Owners stood and sat by their vehicles while people toured the vehicles and mingled. Some cars had their hoods up for visual inspection. All vehicles nicely polished and made to look their best.
The hot, bright dry weather was perfect for the four-hour event (10 am to 2 pm). The backdrop on one side of the rows of vehicles was campers and their RVs/tents, and on the other was the Sooke River. In between were hundreds of visitors touring the vehicles and also the art displays in another row of booths. There was a swap-and-shop aspect to the day as well.
Parking for visitors to the show was in high demand, being managed by volunteers at the entry and on the grounds. There were hourly prize draws and lots of overhead announcements about sponsors and displays.
Among those attending there was a full range of people by age, including children and seniors.
