The opening night of the 2019 Sooke Night Market was on Thursday June 6.
Held on Thursday nights on the grounds of the Sooke Region Museum, the weekly community event organized by the museum is an opportunity for local vendors to sell their wares and for the local community to enjoy a leisurely event in the evening ahead of the weekend.
Parking fills up pretty fast for the 5 to 8 pm evening market.
About 200 people came out with dogs and children for the first night of the season, which runs June 6 to September 5. There was rain was on and off, without much wind.
Vendor displays included the usual range of local produce, crafts and wearables.
The food trucks included Buddha box, Indecent Risotto, and Grilled to the Mac and there was an adult beer area. There were children’s games and karaoke.
Each week’s market runs from 5 to 8 pm.
