There was a theft today Monday September 23 at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) West Shore Town Centre branch at 2945 Jacklin Road in Langford.
The completed robbery was reported to West Shore RCMP at 2:20 p.m. Bank employees reported an adult male suspect — now identified as Christopher Lee Lamoureux [per update September 27] produced a robbery note and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. produced a robbery note and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police attended the scene and have obtained evidence. The suspect was not observed producing any weapon.
While the branch was closed, customers were redirected to the nearby Colwood branch at 1880 Island Highway (next to Thrifty Foods).
“The West Shore RCMP Major Crime Unit remain at the West Shore Town Centre RBC branch and are gathering evidence and following up on various leads. Further details will be released as the investigation develops,” says Cpl. Chris Dovell spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP.
