In the fight against COVID-19, a call for needed equipment and supplies has been issued by the Province of BC.
The Province has requested that businesses and organizations, who have critical supplies in their possession, to undertake an inventory of supplies including personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies and cleaning products.
The specific list:
- PPE: Face shields, N95 masks, surgical masks (including some with attached face shield and for pediatric use), isolation gowns, gowns level 2 & 3, nitrile gloves (powder free), vinyl gloves (latex free), hand sanitizer (bottles), and disinfectant wipes.
- Also mask face aseptic with ear loop, viral swabs.
- Cleaning supplies: bleach in significant volumes, and general all purpose cleaner.
Local governments have been asked to share this request for equipment and supplies with businesses and organizations in the community, as well with the support of media.
At this time, the Province is seeking large quantities of needed items — 100 units or more.
The Province asks that all the supplies and associated volumes held by businesses and organizations be outlined, and whether those businesses or organizations would be able to send the supplies to centralized provincial distribution facilities, located in the Lower Mainland and Victoria, for further distribution across BC. Details about the location of these facilities will be forthcoming.
If your business and/or organization has any of the supplies noted on the inventory form link below in quantities of 100 units or more, please complete the form and email it by Tuesday, April 7, 2020:
