Zoom in to swearing-in! Alistair MacGregor (Cowichan-Malahat-Langford) is inviting constituents to watch his virtual swearing-in to Canada’s 44th Parliament.

MacGregor was re-elected for a third term as the Member of Parliament for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford, in the September 20, 2021 federal election.

Short ceremony:

MacGregor will be virtually and officially sworn-in to Canada’s 44th Parliament on Thursday October 28 at 10:00 am PST. The event will be live-streamed on Zoom.

Anyone who is interested is welcome to join the Zoom call for what is expected to be a 15-minute ceremony.

Virtual option due to COVID:

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, MPs this time have a virtual option that allows for a legal swearing-in to Parliament without travelling to Ottawa.

“While I look forward to future travel to Ottawa, I want to take advantage of the virtual option and share this moment with my constituents”, stated MacGregor today.

“Residents of Cowichan-Malahat-Langford have once again put their trust in me to represent them in Ottawa. This ceremony is about them, and I’m pleased that they will be able to participate this time around.”
