A social event for the Metchosin community is being hosted by the Metchosin Community Association.
The All Candidates Tea on Sunday September 25 will be an opportunity for people to meet and chat with the candidates that will be running in the upcoming municipal and school trustee election.
All candidates invited:
All of the candidates running in the election for Metchosin Office of Mayor, Office of Councillor and Office of School Board Trustee (School District 62) have been invited. That list:
- Metchosin Mayoral Candidates: Kyara Kahakauwila, Marie-Térèse Little
- Metchosin Council Candidates: Mark Atherton, Tamara Ballard, Shelly Donaldson, Sharie Epp, Steve Gray, Jay Shukin, Eric White, Leslie Zinger.
- SD62 Candidates – Belmont Zone (for voters in Metchosin, Highlands, Colwood and Langford): Cendra Beaton, Mary P Brooke, Russ Chipps, Dominique Jacobs, Christine Lervold, Ravi Parmar, Trudy Spiller.
Location and time:
The event will held at the Metchosin Community Association (MCA) House at 4430 Happy Valley Road from 2 to 4 pm. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
Social event SEpt 25:
The MCA describes themselves as a non-political organization, and that they are providing this social event as a community service.
“This is a social event only and intended as a way for Metchosin residents to get to know the candidates. There will *not* be a pulpit for making official political speeches or having debates,” says MCA President Brian Grant in a bulletin today.
Another All Candidates on Oct 4:
On Tuesday October the Metchosin Community Association will be hosting an All Candidates meeting at the Metchosin Community Hall at 4401 William Head Rd, starting at 6:30 pm.
SD62 trustee candidates will also have campaign material available.
