This afternoon February 8 there was a traffic slowdown due to a logging truck incident on the Trans Canada Highway (Highway 1) at West Shore Parkway in Langford.

The logging truck lost its load onto the shoulder of the highway in one of the northbound lanes. The other northbound lane (passing lane) remained open.

This caused traffic delays starting around 1 pm. After 2 pm: “Commuters in the afternoon rush may experience some delays but traffic is getting through,” it was stated by City of Langford Engineering.

Southbound traffic continued through under direction of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure traffic control personnel. A commercial towing service was on scene to help pull the truck back into an upright position.
