Expect some traffic delays on Langford Parkway on Tuesday April 13 during some pavement markings for the eastbound turn lane.
“We are extending the left turn bay driving eastbound approaching Leigh Road to turn left/north up Leigh Road,” says Michelle Mahovlich, Langford Director of Engineering and Public Works.
“We adjusted the signal timing to allow more time for eastbound traffic during the afternoon rush hour,” she added today.
The traffic advisory was posted by the City of Langford engineering department earlier today.
===== ABOUT LANGFORD PARKWAY:
Langford Parkway is a busy route in the west shore with Highway 1 at one end, a roundabout mid-way along that contributes traffic from the West Shore Parkway, serves the Westhills Stadium (being renamed Starlight Stadium) and stretch with arena and bowling alley.
Then there’s that left-hand turn onto Leigh Road which allows access to Goldstream Avenue and beyond that entry to Bear Mountain and Highway 1, sees a lot of traffic at the Jacklin Road intersection (heading to West Shore Town Centre with movie theatre and a range of retail).
Then there’s a commercial section with a further entry to West Shore Town Centre at Peatt Road, and a lineup of major commercial retail like Walmart and Rona, concluding at Veterans Memorial Parkway which itself is a major thoroughfare.
In the Westhills residential section is also an office building containing a BC government office, within a cluster that includes a YM-YWCA, a branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library, and nearby a major BC Transit stop.
Restaurants along Langford Parkway include McDonalds, two Tim Hortons, and White Spot. Grocery includes Quality Foods.
