If Goldstream Avenue is a road in the Langford core that you travel regularly, you’ll want to make note of a permanent lane change.
Effective today, December 2, City of Langford Engineering has amended the laning on Goldstream Avenue driving westbound (coming from Colwood) towards Veteran Memorial Parkway, such that the right-hand curb lane from Granderson Road to Veterans Memorial Parkway is a dedicated right/northbound turn lane.
This has been done to address queuing concerns on Goldstream Avenue during peak travel times, says City of Langford Engineering. Turning right takes motorists to the Millstream #14 exit at the Trans Canada Highway, and beyond that the commercial Millstream shopping area, and beyond that Bear Mountain.
“Drivers beware and approach with caution,” says a City of Langford Engineering news release. “Laning amendments can take time for drivers to learn.”
The change is permanent, says Michelle Mahovlich, Director of Engineering and Public Works, City of Langford.
