Signal light activation for the Chidlow Connector Road — aka Slegg Lumber access road at Highway 14 (Sooke Road) — will be done on Wednesday February 2.
The signal light will be set into full operational mode at that time.
Until the signal lights are activated next week, Sooke Road (Highway 14) will remain the through road with the Chidlow Connector Road being a stop-controlled intersection.
Popular retail & supplier access:
All deliveries/visits to Slegg Lumber should now use the Chidlow Connector Road access. Slegg Building Materials is a prominent supplier to the construction industry.
Slegg has 10 locations including Langford, Victoria, Saanichton, Sidney and Duncan.
Use caution:
This new signal light installation is a safety improvement. However, drivers are asked to use caution until everyone gets used to the new traffic pattern, says City of Langford Engineering.
Chidlow progress:
Back on December 23, 2021 at 9 am, the new access entrance to the Slegg Building Materials construction supply store was opened.
The remainder of the Chidlow Road Connector is now set to open in Spring 2022.
