As Vancouver Island joins the world sliding deeper into the COVID-19 pandemic and the swirl of cancelled major public events that comes with that, Langford-based KeyCorp Sports & Entertainment has collaborated with the City of Langford to announce a summer music festival.

Presuming the pandemic is over and done, the Saturday June 13 big concert event at Westhills Stadium looks like an effort to relaunch public events in the west shore’s largest municipality with a big bang.

The ‘Crown of Sound Music Festival’ is a summer kick-off party for all ages. Organizers say it is a multi-genre music festival featuring highly sought-after musical acts Bishop Briggs, Allan Rayman and local favourites Jesse Roper and Carmanah, with more local artists to be announced.

Westhills Stadium, located at Langford’s City Centre Park, is a world-class facility that has recently received significant upgrades to 6,000 seats with additional washrooms and concession areas, and is home to the Pacific FC, Rugby Canada and the Westshore Rebels.

Gates to the one-day festival will open at 2 pm (closing at 11 pm) and amongst world-class live music, attendees will be able to enjoy their favourite food trucks & beverages from local breweries. There will also be a multitude of games on-site including cornhole, bocce, jumbo jenga, spikeball, and more.

“The goal is to create a space for people from Langford, Victoria, and the entire island to come together and share a day of activities, food, drink and of course world-class music.  We want to bring together our communities for entertainment experiences, and thank them for choosing and trusting in us”, says owner of Crown of Sound David Michaud, President, Keycorp Sports & Entertainment.

“We are always looking for ways to support arts and culture in Langford, to enhance the vibrancy of our community, and to allow people to connect over a common interest. It has been a pleasure working with the Keycorp group and we are excited to see the community embrace this event,” it was stated by Langford Mayor Stew Young.

We are excited to host the summer kick-off party featuring world class artists at the first ever music festival at Westhills Stadium,” says
Kurt Jory, with Crown of Sound producer with Thick as Thieves Entertainment. “Whether you’re a music enthusiast or you’re just looking to socialize outdoors with friends, family and community members, Crown of Sound is a fun, inclusive environment for all”.
