Now that Langford has fast-tracked the availability of expanded patio, sidewalk and boulevard use by restaurants and cafes for their seating area, the local House of Boateng restaurant on Peatt Road is moving ahead with expansion plans.
Owner Castro Boateng says that revenues have been down about 60% since the start of the pandemic in BC, but hopes that will start picking up. Meanwhile they have been offering a weekly menu online, with pre-orders for fast pickup or delivery to your home address during COVID-19.
More hours in June & grad dinner opportunities:
Hours in June are expanding at House of Boateng to be 9 am to 3 pm Wednesday to Sunday once the footprint for tables is approved by the City of Langford. (Currently their hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm).
As well, there will be Friday and Saturday evening dinner spots (5 to 8 pm) for grad dinners and other evening dining guests. Many grads of 2020 will be doing something different this year, given the physical distancing requirements during COVID-19.
With the table area expansion, Boateng says his restaurant which specializes in unique fresh cuisine will have six tables indoors and eight outside on the patio. That’s all in accordance with the Public Health Officer’s physical distancing requirements.
Menu profile:
The current menu at House of Boateng includes soups and salads, as well as sides of cheese, pita and eggplant, proteins like meatballs, falafels and beef stew, and deserts like banana bread and rhubarb vegan mousse.
They specialize in creativity. “We invite you to call us to discuss your vision,” it says along with the phone number 778-432-2233.
Central location:
House of Boateng is located at 105-2854 Peatt Road in central Langford.
