Friday, November 16 ~ BC.

by West Shore Voice News

As of 8:20 am this morning, November 16, Elections BC had received 597,300 Referendum on Electoral Reform ballot packages.

That’s about 18% returned, with 7.9% of those screened. Yesterday the number of screened ballots was 7.5%. (Note, all previous reports on ballot counts have been the number of *screened* ballots.)

Today’s tally does not include packages that have been received by Canada Post but that have not yet been transferred to Elections BC. A rotating strike by Canada Post workers continues across Canada with several of those days hitting Vancouver this past week.

As voters can register and request a package up until November 23, the number of registered voters may change between
subsequent reports.

If the referendum passes, British Columbians will have the chance to vote again in a confirmation referendum after two full election cycles.
