‘Our Action to Help You‘ is the title of a promotional video from the BC NDP. And there’s another one called ‘Rustad’s Record’.
- The first one is informational about what the NDP government has done over the past seven years, which is a lot to pack into 30 seconds. There is mention of building ‘a lot more’ housing, hiring more doctors, nurses and teachers, to help families. Building more hospitals and schools than ever before. Attracting more ‘good jobs’ here and helping people with costs.
- The second one falls into that category of negative personal bashing of candidates on the other side while, however, indirectly points out improvements that the BC NDP have made for people with things like eliminating MSP premiums and keeping ICBC rates under control.
While referring to these videos as an ‘advertisements’, they are promotional infomercials intended to warm up their party loyalists and perhaps introduce or reintroduce the BC NDP brand to others.
Where and when:
Both videos already appear today in social media and will run on broadcast television as well on Monday.
The two infomercials are “part of a multi-faceted campaign” that will highlight what they call “the difference choices for people across the province in the upcoming election”.
The party says David Eby has had a laser-focus on “taking action for people since he became premier less than two years ago” and that his work is “taking on today’s tough challenges”.
Election campaign period:
These promotional materials have been released just one day after the BC United Party folded making the BC Conservatives the main contender in the October 19 election race.
Campaigning for all parties officially starts on September 21 (when ‘the writ drops’) for the BC Election will be held on October 19.
